Andrew Wilmot

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - COVENANT ENERGY GROUP

Mr. Wilmot has 21 years of consultative sales and entrepreneurial experience with a proven track record of building strategic relationships and closing accretive deals in multiple industries. He is known as one of the most connected and active deal specialists in upstream oil and gas. As EVP for business development he serves as Covenant’s lead acquisition and development strategist for both its royalty and non-operated working interest verticals. 

Mr. Wilmot has 10 years of experience cultivating and negotiating private transactions in upstream oil and gas. He has played a key role in closing over 70 oil and gas transactions totaling roughly $400M, all of which were privately marketed with a primary focus on working interest and royalty deals in the Permian and Bakken basins.

Purposed Ventures is a boutique acquisition and divestiture firm specializing in privately-marketed royalties, non-operated, and operated oil and gas assets. Covenant has an exclusive agreement with Purposed Ventures and its founder Mr. Wilmot for a right of first refusal on all conforming assets that flow through their platform. This relationship includes data sharing, market analysis, and leveraging of strategic partnerships for mutual benefit and the closing of accretive transactions. 

Prior to Covenant, Mr. Wilmot’s significant industry engagements included Riverbend Energy Group, Flatland Minerals, GRP Energy Capital, Accelerate Resources, Red Stone Resources, Contender Energy Partners, RSC Resources, Avant Natural Resources, and U.S. Energy Development Corporation.


Mr. Wilmot founded the A&D Golf Invitational in 2017, an annual charity event that draws executives & entrepreneurs in the oil patch from all over Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Colorado, New York, and North Dakota to raise money and awareness for clean water charities with global reach.


In 2007, he cofounded purposed Purposed Ventures with Mr. Christian, which was a start-up and growth venture multidisciplinary consultancy.  He started his career at Miller Jones, a Dallas based recruiting firm, and spent the first 8 years of his sales career in recruiting space.  He is an honors graduate of Abilene Christian University where he played on the golf team and majored in Human Communication with a minor in Public Service as a Jack Pope Fellow.
